Jenny Nordberg is an industrial designer (MFA) based in Malmö. Her work is exploratory and transboundary and can have outcomes that vary from experimental and conceptual to commercial. Nordberg mainly works with assignments and questions concerning production and consumption. One of the main objectives for Nordberg as a designer is to expand the role of the designer. Her work is carried out in three main areas: 1) Practice – which often is experimental, investigative and craft-oriented. 2) Teaching – at various design and architect schools. 3) Commissions – design related objects, strategies or processes connected to the world of production.
In 2008 Nordberg co-founded and ran the design and innovation studio ‘Apokalyps Labotek’ until the summer of 2013. She is also one of four partners in ‘Mines Above Ground’, a recycling company focusing on the benefits of cyclic material flows. Nordberg also runs the webshop project ‘Center of Commerce’ (COC). Nordberg describes COC as “a lust driven and investigative consumption project.”
